Botox is a purified neurotoxin that softens the look of lines and wrinkles. It’s most often used for lines between the brows, on the forehead and at the outer corners of the eyes.

Downtime is minimal. Most clients go straight back to work and regular activities. Any redness or minor bruising usually fades within a few hours.

Results usually appear within 5 to 7 days and peak at 1 to 2 weeks. If you have a special event, book at least 2 weeks ahead.

Most clients see results for 3 to 6 months. As it wears off, skin returns to how it looked before, so most clients come back every three to six months to maintain results.

Before: avoid alcohol for 24 hours, eat beforehand, and reschedule if you have a rash or cold sore near the area. Ask your doctor before pausing any blood-thinning medication. After: don’t rub the area for 3 hours, skip strenuous exercise for 6 hours, avoid heat and extended sun for 72 hours, and wait 14 days before facials or laser treatments.
