Skin Suite Treatment Plan

It’s important to us that you feel comfortable before, during, and after your treatment. To make sure you receive the best results, before your treatment we will inform you of all pre-treatment and post-treatment care that you should implement prior to visiting us.

Much like the targeted treatment plan we create based on your skin’s needs, we will work with you to ensure your pre-treatment and post-treatment care aligns with your desired outcome for your skin.

Botox Pre-Treatment:

  • Avoid consuming alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to your treatment, alcohol may thin the blood and increase bruising

  • Avoid anti-inflammatory or blood thinning medications for a period of 2 weeks before treatment as they can increase the risk of bruising and swelling. Always consult your Primary Care Physician before stopping any medications.

  • Schedule your treatment 2 weeks prior if there is a special event you are attending, like a wedding or a vacation, since results can take 4-7 days to appear.

  • Reschedule your appointment if you have a rash or cold sore, around the treatment area.

  • Eat prior to your appointment to avoid being lightheaded during the treatment

  • Avoid the treatment if you are breastfeeding or pregnant

Botox Post-Treatment:

  • Don’t manipulate or massage the treated area for at least 3 hours after the treatment.

  • Don’t undergo facial/laser treatments or microdermabrasion after Botox injections for at least 14 days.

  • It can take approximately 4-7 days for results to be seen. If the desired appearance isn’t seen after 2 weeks, you may need additional Botox.

  • Don’t perform extensive activities that involve straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 6 hours after the treatment. This will keep the Botox in the injected area and not elsewhere.

  • Avoid extensive sun and heat for at least 72 hours after your treatment. Remember to wear sunblock (SPF 30 or higher) whenever you’re out in the sun.

  • Avoid consuming large amounts of alcohol or salts to avoid excess swelling or bruising.

FAQ’s about Botox

  • At Skin Suite, we treat patients at every stage of their beauty journey.

For patients in their 20s and 30s looking to reduce the signs of early aging, we recommend treatments that help refine lines and preemptively reduce wrinkles. Patients in their 40s and 50s typically are looking for a refresh — they are just turning the corner of their aging journey and want their skin to feel and look rejuvenated. For patients above 50, we recommend treatments that complement each other — like injectables and laser skin services — to help give you that extra ‘pep’ in your step!

We want to help enhance your natural beauty and draw out what’s already there. Our treatments help you feel like a refreshed and rejuvenated version of yourself — while still looking like you!

  • We want to help you feel confident in your skin. During your consultation, we let the patient lead by walking us through what they’d like to be refined and what their overall goals are. Then, we will create a tailored treatment plan that targets those areas.

  • Every person’s body — from their skin to their face structure to their hair follicles — is different from the next. You’re unique so your treatment plan should match that. Although some clinics approach medical aesthetics with a one-size-fits-all approach, what works for one doesn’t work for all. At Skin Suite we pride ourselves on tailoring every treatment and providing a maintenance schedule to the patient to ensure optimal results.

  • It’s important to us that we take your medical aesthetic journey step-by-step. In the first session, we encourage starting with a low treatment to see how the body accepts the product. Then, after two weeks, we invite all patients back to Skin Suite to follow-up and reassess and review what their long term goals are. Once we reach that target, we create a maintenance schedule for each patient.

  • Botox is a purified neurotoxin that helps soften and minimize the appearance of ines and wrinkles. As an injectable, it’s most commonly used to help treat fine lines around the eyebrows, on the forehead, and the outer corners of the eyes.

  • Botox works by injecting small amounts of the purified neurotoxin into the skin to relax the muscles around the target area. As it relaxes, the line or wrinkle becomes less noticeable.

  • After having botox injections, some patients may see minor bruising or redness immediately after treatment. These side effects typically subside after a few hours and more serious complications are very rare.

  • Downtime is minimal with most patients resuming their work and regular activities immediately after receiving treatment.

  • Results usually appear within 5-7 days after treatment.

  • Results may vary but most patients see improvement between 3 to 6 months.

  • After one treatment patients will begin to see improvements. As the effects of injectables wear off over time, your skin will return to its appearance pre-treatment. Typically our patients return every three to six months to maintain the effects.

  • Botox is approved for anyone over the age of 18 years old.

  • We recommend not getting botox to those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a neurological disease, have a neuromuscular disorder, or are allergic to Botox. In addition, we do not recommend getting botox to those who have bleeding problems, have recently had eye surgery, have certain eye problems (glaucoma), heart disease, diabetes, history of signs of infection near the injection site, urinary tract infection, or the inability to urinate.

  • Our patients should avoid any pressure or manipulation of the affected area to prevent migration while remaining in an upright position for 4 hours post-treatment. They should ensure the injection site is clean and avoid sleeping on the impacted area. Bruising can occur which can be treated by gently applying ice over the area.
