IPL Laser: My Secret Weapon for Red Spots, Brown Spots & Everything in Between

Let’s throw it back to one of the very first treatments Lauren ever did for me, besides Botox, of course (that’s a given). It was the IPL laser, and honestly, I went in for one very specific reason: a stubborn little red bump on my forehead.

Now, I think it started as a pimple that I just couldn’t stop picking at (you know the kind). But it turned into a permanently red, annoying little spot that bugged me every time I looked in the mirror. So, Lauren, being the miracle worker she is, zapped it with the IPL.

Wait, She Did My Whole Face Too

True to form, Lauren didn’t just treat the bump. She did a full-face IPL session, and let me tell you, I had no idea what I was in for (in the best way).

The treatment itself? Super easy. The zaps felt a little weird, it was like quick snaps of a rubber band, but not painful at all. Afterward, she slathered me in sunscreen (mandatory!) and reminded me again that I must wear sunscreen every day. And yes, I’m working on it.

The Magic of IPL

Over the next few days, the real fun started. All those little brown spots I didn’t even realize I had began to darken slightly and then slough off naturally. It was so satisfying to watch my skin literally shed the dullness and reveal a brighter, more even complexion underneath.

And remember that red bump? Well, turns out it was a pimple, because after the treatment, it popped, healed, and disappeared. Win!

Not only that, but the IPL also worked on those teeny little red veins around my nose from years of ahem picking at my skin. Totally gone.

What to Expect After

After treatment, my skin craved moisture. I was religious about sunscreen and kept things hydrated with my regular routine. But next time? I’ll definitely be using some of the amazing recovery balms and Allumier Hydro-Rich Creams that Skin Suite now carries. My skin would’ve soaked those up like a dream.

Would I Do It Again?

Absolutely. In fact, I have to, because guess what? My little red bump is back. 😅 But honestly, this treatment is a must-try for:

  • Pigmentation issues

  • Brown spots

  • Broken capillaries or redness

  • General dullness and skin tone correction

IPL might be low-key compared to some of the trendier treatments, but the results are loud. Highly recommend it, especially if you want a noticeable glow-up with little downtime.
