My CoolPeel™ Journey at Skin Suite

Okay, so let me tell you about my CoolPeel™ experience. If you’ve been curious (or nervous) like I was, you deserve the real story.

As many of you know, Skin Suite yes, home to my bestie and expert RN Lauren recently got the new CoolPeel CO₂ laser machine. While it can be customized to various levels, I went for the basic CO₂ peel to dip my toe into the experience.

Let’s just say…I was a total chicken at first. After seeing all those TikToks with red, raw faces, I was low-key terrified. But with Lauren’s steady hands and reassuring voice, I hopped up on the table and got started.

The Treatment

Honestly? It wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The sensation was super similar to an IPL laser, it was like little zaps followed by a warm flush. The entire session was quick, and while I did start to feel the heat toward the end, Lauren used the cooling machine to bring the temperature (and my nerves) down.

Afterward, she applied a calming mask that instantly soothed my skin. Total relief. I actually drove back to Saskatoon right after (okay, my husband drove while I napped in the passenger seat). Yes, it was that chill of a treatment.

Post-Treatment Reality

When I got home, I removed the mask and applied a thick layer of AquaDerm, which felt amazing. My skin felt like I’d been out in the sun a little too long, a bit tight, but not painful at all.

The next morning, I woke up to some redness and mild swelling. My husband took one look at me and said, “You’re crazy for doing this stuff!” (Honestly, we all suffer a little for glowing skin, don’t we?)

I kept up the hydration with AquaDerm and followed it with La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5, both of which are on the post-care instructions from Skin Suite. By the afternoon, I did feel a bit wiped, like that poolside sun-tired feeling, but nothing dramatic. If I could do it again, I’d absolutely recommend clearing your schedule for the day after just to relax.

By day three, I was good to go. I started using the tinted sunscreen from Skin Suite (which I now swear by) instead of foundation. It gave me just enough coverage while letting my skin breathe. Bonus: Lauren was thrilled that I was finally using sunscreen!

The Results? Magic.

It’s been a few weeks since my treatment, and I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the best skin treatment I’ve ever had. My biggest insecurity is pore size and it has improved drastically. My skin looks and feels at least ten years younger. I used to layer on pore filler under foundation. Now? Just tinted moisturizer.

Even around my eyes, there’s a noticeable lift. They’re more open, less tired-looking, and that slight sag I was starting to see? Gone. It’s like a subtle, non-surgical eye refresh built into a skin treatment.

Final Thoughts

If you’re considering CoolPeel but nervous about pain, downtime, or results, take it from me: I was scared, too. But this treatment was so worth it. Minimal discomfort, quick recovery, and incredible results. I’ll absolutely be adding it to my skin care regimen going forward.

If you’ve got questions, I’m happy to share more. But in short? Trust Lauren. Trust Skin Suite. And definitely treat yourself.
